Here's what's happening at St. Paul's congregation!

Next week we celebrate Lutheran Schools Week! Our mid-week Lenten Worship Schedule will be 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM on Wednesday. Please join us!

 WORSHIP SCHEDULE CHANGE for Saturday, February 28--Our worship service will be at 5:30 p.m. (and NOT 6p, as is usual).

Next weekend is our Janesville Lutheran Invitational (Basketball) Tournament---also known as JLIT! We will welcome seven teams from Wisconsin and Illinois to play in our three-day tournament. There will be great food served in Fellowship Hall; candy and snacks in the Flame Room; button sales; a coat room; and lots of basketball. You and your family are invited to join us--come and volunteer some of your time or come to cheer our team on! But please join us for the weekend.

 

In order to allow all players, cheerleaders, and other teams' families and friends to worship with us, our Saturday evening service on February 28 will begin at 5:30 p.m.

We hope you will join us for worship during the seasons of Lent and Easter!

Things You Should Know:

1) 2008 Contribution Statements are available for pick-up from Fellowship Hall (the church basement)

2) 2009 Contribution Envelopes are available for pick-up from Fellowship Hall

 

3)  ASH WEDNESDAY worship services, with Holy Communion, will be February 25 at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

 

4) WORSHIP SCHEDULE CHANGE for Saturday, February 28--Our worship service will be at 5:30 p.m. (and NOT 6p, as is usual).

Contribution Envelopes for 2009 are available for pick up in Fellowship Hall (the church basement).

St. Paul’s Spiritual Health and Planning Continues!

Everyone is invited to participate in the next step of our Spiritual Health assessment Saturday, November 8 from 9 a.m. to Noon in Fellowship Hall. We will gather together for snacks, beverages, large group presentation and small group discussions. Our focus will be to discover the mission of St. Paul’s. We will work to answer the question, "Why has God placed THIS church in THIS place at THIS time?" Your participation throughout this process is very important. Please join us as we prayerfully consider the purposes God has for the body of Christ here at St. Paul’s.

 

Do you, or someone you know, need leaves raked from your yard? Our Youth would love to help!! Please call the church office at 754-4471 so that we can schedule our Youth group to come to your home on Sunday, November 2, and help you get your lawn ready for winter.

Quarterly Voters Meeting is Monday, October 27 at 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited!

A Family Together Celebration is Next Sunday, October 12, 2008!

 

 

We gather, as one family in Christ, for ONE worship service at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s School Gym. (There will be NO Thursday or Saturday evening worship this week!!) We’ll follow our worship with a family cookout/tailgate party. We’ll provide the food (hot dogs/brats/chicken strips with chips and beverages) and table service. Bring your whole family with a hearty appetite! Lawn chairs/camp chairs are also welcomed, since if weather is nice we’ll picnic outside in the parking lot. Indoor seating will also be available in Fellowship Hall. Come, join with your St. Paul’s Family to praise God for all that He has done!

October 12 we celebrate as a "Family Together" with a joint communion worship service at 10 a.m. in the school's gym. We follow that with a family tailgate/picnic. Make plans to join us---more details in this issue of News N Notes!

DON'T FORGET to take part in the Congregational Survey on Monday, September 29 at 7 p.m. in St. Paul's Fellowship Hall. Your input is very important, as we seek  to serve the Lord according to HIS plan.

St. Paul's Praise Team would like to invite members of the Adult Choir to join us as we lead the music for the special, joint worship service on October 12 at 10 a.m. in the school gym.

To prepare for this special sevice, we plan to have three practices--the last two are REQUIRED for anyone who would like to participate:

Wednesday, October 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary-practice required for anyone participating on Sunday
